Trading Options: Benefits for Suppliers

Each of the three trading options available through the marketplace have their own advantages for suppliers and some benefits are common to all trading options.

Common benefits to all trading options:

  • Items are ordered and delivered correctly and buyers can easily find your products and services.
  • The option to have seamless links with your accounting system which in turn reduces paperwork, the re-keying of items and administrative time.
  • Auditable processes mean you can see the progress of orders, advice notes and invoices.
  • Orders are received in the format you choose (directly to your back office system, email, fax or SMS)
  • Implementation is straightforward.
  • Buyers can easily find your company details and products.

Benefits of Punch-Out trading:

  • The buyer links directly to your website from the Parabilis marketplace allowing them to see and use the full functionality of your website e.g.: stock levels.
  • There is no requirement to create a new catalogue for customers.
  • You are in full control of what the buyer has access to.
  • You can allow for ‘bespoke’ pricing for customers.
  • UNSPSC (United Nations Standard Products and Services Code) - a comprehensive universal coding system used to classify both products and services for use throughout the global eCommerce marketplace. This means that buyers can easily find and order your products.

As mentioned on earlier pages, there is a small transaction charge for those who trade on a Punch-Out link. For further information about this, please contact EGS on 0207 5392828 or email info@egsgroup.com

Benefits of Hosted Catalogue trading:

  • Catalogues can be tailored to fit each customer; showing your agreed pricing and/or items for purchase.
  • A single catalogue can be made available to more than one customer. E.g.: if a contract has been agreed for a number of institutes in a region such as England, a catalogue can be tailored to this contract and made available to all participating institutes.
  • There is no need for a company website with shopping basket functionality.
  • UNSPSC (United Nations Standard Products and Services Code) - a comprehensive universal coding system used to classify both products and services for use throughout the global eCommerce marketplace. This means that buyers can easily find and order your products.
  • There is no cost for the supplier unless they ask EGS to manage their catalogues

Benefits of Free Text trading:

  • Buyers can still use your paper-based catalogues.
  • Can be used as a stepping-stone to the more cost effective ways of trading – Hosted Catalogues and Punch-Out.
