Parabilis Trading Options
Parabilis has a variety of trading options for institutes and suppliers which are detailed below.
Institution Trading Options
Institutions can either ‘punch-in’ to Parabilis via their purchase order system or use the full Parabilis procure to pay system. The choice of which method to use will depend on the functionality of the institutes Finance Management System (FMS). Both methods of trading involve an interface for automatic order and invoice data exchange between the e-marketplace and the FMS.

Supplier Trading Options
Parabilis is able to support the three trading options noted below.
Punch-Out: This is generally used for high value, high volume ordering from a handful of suppliers. Essentially buyers will link through to a supplier website via Parabilis. The supplier’s website must have a shopping basket facility for this option to be feasible. Punch-Out suppliers can opt to receive their orders in cxml format, or via email, fax or SMS.
Hosted Catalogues: This involves the supplier providing a catalogue of their products to the Supplier Adoption Officer in excel format which is then uploaded to Parabilis. Catalogues can range in size from one line to over fifty thousand lines; and can include product images and links to related documentation. Hosted catalogues are easy for the supplier to manage and offer good search facilities for buyers. Hosted catalogue suppliers can opt to receive their orders in cxml format, or via email, fax or SMS.
Free text: Generally used for suppliers who only receive a few orders, and/or for items which do not lend themselves to catalogues. Examples include services and goods such as window cleaning, gardeners, utilities and bespoke items such as blinds. Free text suppliers can opt to receive their orders via email, fax or SMS.
Parabilis offers all three trading options, e-invoice presentation and full three-way invoice matching.
There is no cost to suppliers who chose to trade on Parabilis via a Hosted Catalogue or on a Free text basis; however there is a small transaction charge for those who trade on a Punch-Out link, this cost is more than offset by the many benefits of trading in this way.
