Trading Options: Benefits For Institutions

There is an annual subscription charge to institutes for using the Parabilis e-marketplace which has been determined through the EU competetive tender process. Details are set out in the Parabilis Framework Agreement.

Each trading option available through the market place has its own advantages for users.

Advantages of Hosted Catalogues vs Punch-Out

• With a hosted catalogue the institution has control over the content and can easily bespoke catalogues for their requirements.
• Suppliers are unable to change hosted catalogue details, such as pricing, without agreement from the institution.
• As hosted catalogues are static they may not always be fully up to date or contain the suppliers full range of products.

Advantages of Punch-Out vs Hosted Catalogues

• With Punch-Out conections, the buyer has the full functionality of the suppliers website, e.g.: they may be able to view stock levels or configure products.
• Punch-Out links require little ongoing maintenance by the institution.
• As the Punch-Out link takes you directly to a suppliers website an institution has little control over the content and products available to buyers - a buyer may be able to purchase unauthorised products and prices may change without authorisation or notice to the institute.
